God Cares for You

God will take care of you.

Psalms 37:23-25
(23) The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
(24) Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.
(25) I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

“And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?” (Matthew 14:28-31)

 

The Penalty of Sin

Everyone has sinned. Everyone has fallen short of the glory of God. Whatever your opinion is, apart from Jesus, we have no hope at all. Apart from Jesus there is no faith of our kind, no bible like our bible, no history like our history. And yet, with all these truths, there is not enough in them to make us whole in Christ; for that, all it takes is a willing heart. For without Christ we die in our sins.

Romans 6:23
(23) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

 

What is the end of the Lost?

Isaiah 3:11
(11) Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.

Ezekiel 18:4
(4) Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10
(9) Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
(10) Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

Many people turn away at this teaching. “You’re just trying to scare me!” The only thing wrong with that statement is the word “just.” Yes, we’re trying to scare you; scare you out of the delusion that everything is going to work out for you, even without the mercy and grace of Jesus. Look, if your house was about to burn down and you were sitting, engrossed in TV, we’d try to scare you; the momentary fear we all experienced when we were confronted with the truth of our end is nothing compared to the real thing; and is immediately made up for with the comfort and a peace that passes all understanding in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Nothing tells the end of the unsaved like Jesus’ own words;

Luke 16:19-31
(19) There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
(20) And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
(21) And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
(22) And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
(23) And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
(24) And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
(25) But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
(26) And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
(27) Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:
(28) For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
(29) Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
(30) And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
(31) And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

 

God’s Love for You Cannot be Overestimated

John 3:16-17
(16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

God gave His only begotten Son for you. That if you believe in Him you will not die, but will live forever with God. He did this, not so the world would be condemned; to do that, all God had to do was call us to account and let us perish in sin. No, He sent His Son so that the world, through Jesus Christ, might be SAVED. Believe and live.

Isaiah 40:29-31
(29) He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
(30) Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
(31) But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

 

Repent

We must turn away from our sin.

Never in the bible was righteousness received or forgiveness given without repentance. Repentance means we turn away, or depart, from our evil ways. Only then can the Lord’s goodness come in.

Witness the response of the lost to the apostle Peter’s preaching;
“Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” (Acts 2:37-39)

First, we turn away or repent; THEN we receive of the Lord.

As John the Baptist rebuked the self-righteous pharisees who came to him;
“But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.” Matthew 3:7-10

We must turn away from our sin. Today EVEN in most churches, repentance for sin is not even preached. Our hateful habits–which are killing us physically and most certainly spiritually–we are told to embrace as ‘who we are’ and ‘the way we’re made.’ And in this way, Satan triumphs again, deceiving the lost and many of the saved even, into lives of self-imposed bondage to the flesh and sin.

We must turn away from our sin.

 

The LORD Jesus is Coming Back

In His own words;
” Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” (Matthew 24:29-31)

As spoken by His angels:
“And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:9-11)
